Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift Is Real and We Don’t Know Why

Yes, you read that correctly. Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift is a real thing, and we're not really sure what to make of it.

Publisher Microids recently announced that one of the karting genre's worst games is getting a sequel. Why? Probably because the series still has a lot of family-friendly appeal. Now with Eden Games, Garfield Kart 2 comes with eight characters, customisable karts and three different universes themed on pirates, detectives, and cowboys. Solo play and online multiplayer are all supported.

I have to ask; is this a Morbius situation? You know, where that film critically and commercially bombed, only for internet memes praising it led to an also unsuccessful revival? Naturally, a sequel's not the same thing as re-releasing the original game, but when the Steam version of Garfield Kart 1 currently sits at a “very positive” reception, I wonder.

Anyway, we've already volunteered Lex to review it on day one and a different developer means we can't assume it'll fall into the same issues its predecessor did. Until then, Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift is out on September 10 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
